The chemistry of coagulation is realised in hardware: mixers that disperse reagent, flocculators that grow floc and clarifiers or flotation units that separate it. Reynolds & Bauhm engineers and supplies the complete train.
The physical chemistry behind every coagulant dose, from zeta potential to the Camp number.
DAF, clarification and chemical conditioning systems for solids and oil removal.
Dissolved air flotation for coagulated solids, fats and oils.
Effective coagulation and flocculation depend as much on the mixing equipment as on the chemistry. Coagulant must be dispersed almost instantly at high mixing intensity (rapid mix) so it reaches every colloid before it hydrolyses, then the water must be stirred gently (flocculation) to grow strong, settleable flocs without shearing them apart. Getting the velocity gradient, retention time and energy input right at each stage is what separates a clarifier that performs from one that carries solids over. Reynolds & Bauhm design and supply the full train — in-line static mixers, mechanical flash mixers and tapered flocculators — sized to your flow, coagulant and floc requirements.
High-intensity mixers disperse coagulant in under a minute at high G for charge neutralisation.
Paddle and turbine flocculators deliver controlled, tapered G across multiple stages.
Baffled channels and pipe flocculators provide energy-efficient, maintenance-light mixing.
Inclined-plate clarifiers settle floc in a compact footprint, ideal for constrained sites.
Circular and rectangular clarifiers handle high-rate and high-solids duties.
DAF floats low-density floc, fats and oils where settling is slow.
Metering skids with pH and charge control deliver precise, automated dosing.
Automatic polymer preparation units ensure correctly aged, active flocculant.
Streaming-current and turbidity instruments close the loop on coagulant dose.
Reynolds & Bauhm delivers this scope as part of an integrated, single-point engagement matched to your project, programme and regulatory regime.
