Thyristor Rectifier Power Supply

The DC power supply at the heart of every electrocoagulation (EC) cell. A thyristor-controlled rectifier delivers stable, current-regulated DC to the sacrificial electrodes, dissolving iron or aluminium in-situ to coagulate emulsified fats, proteins and colloids — with no external coagulant dosing.

Constant-current control

Thyristor (SCR) firing-angle control holds the set current regardless of changing electrolyte conductivity, so iron dosing stays proportional to treatment demand rather than to water chemistry.

Automatic polarity reversal

Programmable polarity reversal evens electrode wear and limits passivation/scaling on the plates, extending electrode life and holding performance between cleans.

Closed-loop dosing

Current set-point can be paced from flow or COD load, so Fe²⁺ generation tracks the real organic load — the EC equivalent of flow-paced chemical dosing.

Protected & monitored

Over-current, over-temperature and earth-leakage protection plus current/voltage telemetry to SCADA make the rectifier a controllable, alarmed asset, not a black box.
