From dosing duty to a complete, costed system

A chemical dosing system is more than a pump. Sizing starts from the active chemical demand — the target dose multiplied by the process flow — which sets the neat product feed rate once the solution strength and specific gravity are known. From there the design fans out into storage and day tanks, mixing and dilution, the metering pump and skid (with pulsation, back-pressure and relief protection), injection and instrumentation, the control and automation tier, and the safety and PPE package the chemical demands.

How this tool works

  • Sizing follows the standard dosing-pump formula — neat flow = (dose × flow) ÷ (SG × %active) — with a 25% design margin and tank capacities from your storage and hold-time inputs.
  • Pump selection brackets the design flow and pressure against the real metering-pump catalogue and screens the wetted material against the chemical’s compatibility.
  • The Bill of Materials is assembled from our dosing component, storage-tank, controls and safety tables, scaled by the control philosophy and pump redundancy you choose, and totalled to a budgetary estimate.

For early-stage design and estimating. Final selection must confirm chemical compatibility, turndown, back-pressure, electrical and safety codes and injection hydraulics against the project specification.
