Packed tower stripping column removing ammonia from high-strength industrial wastewater and converting it to fertilizer-grade ammonium sulphate.
The Ammonia Stripping Column is a vertical packed tower that removes dissolved ammonia from wastewater by converting ammonium ions to gaseous ammonia through pH elevation and temperature, then stripping the gas with steam or air. The ammonia-rich gas is absorbed in sulphuric acid to produce ammonium sulphate fertilizer. Constructed in SS316 for corrosion resistance, with structured packing providing high mass transfer efficiency and low pressure drop.
High-efficiency structured packing (250-500 m2/m3) provides 95%+ ammonia transfer with low pressure drop.
SS316L construction with acid-resistant linings for long service life in aggressive conditions.
H2SO4 absorption tower produces 21-0-0 NPK ammonium sulphate – a saleable byproduct.
Online pH, temperature, and ammonia monitors control stripping efficiency. SCADA integrated.
