Pelton wheel turbine recovering 25-40% of pumping energy from RO concentrate and high-pressure wastewater streams.
The Energy Recovery Turbine is a Pelton wheel impulse turbine that captures hydraulic energy from high-pressure liquid streams such as RO concentrate, filter backwash, or pressurised process effluent. The high-velocity jet impinges on Pelton cups, rotating the turbine shaft which is directly coupled to the high-pressure pump motor. This reduces the electrical power required by the feed pump by 25-40%. For large SWRO systems, this can save 50-150 kW of continuous power.
Direct mechanical coupling to HP pump motor reduces electrical consumption significantly.
SS316 or duplex stainless steel construction resists saline concentrate corrosion.
Direct shaft coupling – no VFD or gearbox required. Simple, reliable, minimal maintenance.
Pelton wheel efficiency 85-90% at design flow. Performance maintained across 80-120% flow range.
