Continuous sludge dewatering with low energy consumption and minimal operator intervention. Achieve 18-22% cake dryness from biological or chemical sludge.
Advanced sludge dewatering with minimal energy consumption and operator intervention
The Multi-Disc Screw Press (MDSP) uses a series of fixed and moving thin discs arranged around a central screw shaft to progressively dewater sludge. Unlike traditional belt presses or centrifuges, the MDSP operates at very low speeds (2-5 RPM) with no high-wear components, resulting in minimal maintenance requirements and energy consumption of just 0.05-0.15 kWh/kg DS. The self-cleaning disc design prevents clogging even with fibrous or greasy sludges.
Multi-disc screw presses from Reynolds & Bauhm are available in capacities from 5 kg DS/hour for small package plants up to 800 kg DS/hour for large municipal installations. Cake dryness typically reaches 18-22% for municipal sludge and 14-18% for industrial applications. The enclosed, odour-controlled design makes the MDSP suitable for indoor installation without additional ventilation infrastructure.
Primary and secondary sludge dewatering at municipal wastewater treatment plants from package plants to large regional facilities.
Sludge dewatering from dairy, meat, brewery, and vegetable processing effluents with high organic and fibre content.
Primary sludge and fibre-laden wastewater residuals from pulp mills and paper machines with excellent fibre handling capability.
Petroleum industry and food service sludge with elevated oil and grease content where self-cleaning design prevents blinding.
