The Belt Filter Press dewaters conditioned sludge through a continuous process: gravity drainage, wedge zone compression, and high-pressure shear between two porous belts. Polymer-conditioned sludge is fed onto a horizontal gravity zone where free water drains. The sludge then enters the wedge zone where it is squeezed between converging belts. Finally, high-pressure rollers apply shear forces, extracting additional water. Cake solids of 15-22% are achieved depending on sludge type.
