Understanding the Calculation

Mass Balance

Spent grain at 80% moisture contains 800 kg water per tonne. Dewatering to 30% solids removes ~333 kg of water per tonne of raw grain.

Transport Savings

With ~40% mass reduction, fewer truck loads are required. At £0.35/tonne/km over 50 km, savings compound quickly for high-volume breweries.

Biogas Value
