ASME B16.5 Flange Dimensions (Drawings) — Weld-Neck, Slip-On, Blind & Socket-Weld

Scaled dimensioned drawings of ASME B16.5 pipe flanges for every pressure class (150 to 2500). Pick a flange type, class and size to see a bolt-face and section drawing with outside diameter, flange thickness, raised-face diameter, bolt circle, bolt holes, bore and hub — plus reference tabs for pressure-temperature ratings, bolt & stud data, facings, materials, B16.47 large-diameter flanges and B16.20 ring-joint gaskets.

How ASME B16.5 flange dimensions are defined

ASME B16.5 covers pipe flanges and flanged fittings from NPS ½ to 24 in seven pressure classes — 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500. Each flange is fully defined by its outside diameter (O), flange thickness (C), raised-face diameter, bolt-circle diameter (W), the number and size of bolts, the bolt-hole diameter and the bore — with weld-neck flanges adding a tapered hub of length X. Larger sizes (NPS 26 and above) are covered by ASME B16.47 Series A and B. Ring-type-joint grooves use the ring dimensions of ASME B16.20.

Sources & standards

  • ASME B16.5 — pipe flanges & flanged fittings, NPS ½–24, classes 150–2500 (weld-neck, slip-on, blind, socket-weld, threaded, lap-joint).
  • ASME B16.47 — large-diameter steel flanges, NPS 26–60, Series A (MSS SP-44) and Series B (API 605).
  • ASME B16.20 — metallic gaskets: ring-joint (RTJ) octagonal/oval rings, spiral-wound and jacketed.
  • Pressure–temperature ratings — the maximum allowable working pressure of each class falls as temperature rises, by material group.
  • Bolting — number, diameter and length of studs/bolts per size and class, with ASME B16.5 marking and tolerance requirements.

All dimensions are read directly from the published ASME B16.5 / B16.47 / B16.20 tables — not estimated. Always confirm against the current edition of the standard before fabrication.
