A pilot only produces data once it is on the intake, connected and running. Because our seawater DAF pilots are factory-built and FAT-tested as one piece, site deployment is fast and low-risk: connect feed, drain and power, commission, train the operator, and start logging — with our engineers on the line throughout. This page walks through exactly what happens from the truck arriving to the first validated dataset.
Everything that can go wrong with a pilot — piping leaks, control faults, instrument calibration, pump priming — we find and fix in our works during the witnessed factory acceptance test, not on a windswept jetty. So the rig arrives as a known-good unit and site work is reduced to three service connections, a structured commissioning sequence and operator training. Most rigs are producing representative data within days of arrival. For the constraints that genuinely make remote intakes hard, see remote pilot challenges.
A tapping off the intake or a temporary suction line. The on-board self-priming pump and strainer handle the rest — see intake pumping.
Clarified water, float sludge and reject returned to an approved point. We confirm the discharge route in planning.
Crane or forklift to position, level and secure the container/skid on its standing.
Feed, drain and power connected and pressure/insulation tested.
Fill, prime, prove pumps, calibrate online instruments against grab samples.
Establish baseline coagulation, recycle and loading; confirm float and clarified quality.
Hands-on training on the HMI, sampling, chemical handling and the test programme.
Remote dashboard live; our engineers monitor and support the campaign throughout.
4G/VPN dashboard lets our process engineers watch trends, tune setpoints and catch a bloom onset with the operator — minimising site visits.
Defined support response for the campaign, with the option of periodic site attendance and our aftermarket services.
Bunded chemical store, leak detection, eyewash and method statements — safe chemical operation on an unmanned-most-of-the-time rig.
Generator interface and optional solar-assisted control power keep remote intakes logging without grid power.

Select the regulatory standard for your country — it sets which parameters we need for a compliance-aware process assessment.
Required parameters for the chosen standard are flagged on the sample form. You can still submit a partial set and we will advise what else to test.
