Basic solids removal device with gravity separation and no moving parts
The Reynolds Bauhm Curved Screen SL is a basic yet effective solids removal device engineered for straightforward wastewater treatment applications. Raw wastewater flows onto a curved surface featuring precisely engineered slots. Clean water passes through the slots while solids slide down the curved surface by gravity. With no moving parts, this screen offers exceptional reliability and minimal maintenance requirements, making it widely used in food processing industries and other applications requiring simple solids separation.

A curved or run-down screen is an elegantly simple solids-separation device: effluent flows over a curved wedge-wire surface, liquid passes through the slots while solids are carried down and off the face, with no moving parts at all. That simplicity makes it reliable, cheap to run and easy to maintain — well suited to food processing, abattoir and similar effluents with a high load of fibrous or particulate solids. We size the screen to the flow and select the slot aperture to the solids being captured, and can pair it with downstream dewatering. For many duties it is the most cost-effective first stage of solids removal available.
