Flocculation tanks provide the gentle, sustained mixing needed for destabilised particles to collide and aggregate into larger flocs. Variable speed paddle mixers maintain optimal velocity gradients that promote floc growth without causing breakup, ensuring effective solids removal in downstream separation processes.
Flocculation is the second stage in chemical conditioning and treatment, following rapid mix. The gentle mixing energy allows microflocs formed during coagulation to collide and combine into larger, settleable flocs. Our flocculation tanks feature multiple compartments with tapered energy input, providing decreasing mixing intensity as flocs grow larger and more fragile.
