Wave press technology using high-shear rollers to progressively dewater sludge through a sinuous path. Low energy, no chemicals required. Capacity to 500 kg DS/hr.
The Wave Press is an innovative dewatering technology that uses a sinusoidal compression profile to squeeze water from sludge between two permeable belts. Unlike conventional belt presses, the wave pattern creates multiple pressure zones that progressively increase cake dryness while minimising shear-induced floc breakup.
Operating at belt speeds of 1–5 m/min with specific throughput capacities of 100–400 kg DS/m/h, the Wave Press achieves cake solids of 18–28% for municipal sludge and 30–45% for mineral or fibrous sludges. Low polymer consumption and minimal wash-water requirements reduce operating requirements by 20–40% compared with centrifuge dewatering.
